How Members and Consumer Benefit from PRC
The PRC Network offers consumers a wealth of benefits. Consumers have both knowledge of and access to those real estate agents who can provide them with the greatest value. In doing so, PRC will essentially protect consumers who will now become more cautious regarding how they involve underperforming, less experienced and unskilled real estate agents in their important real estate-related decisions.
By working with a PRC Network Member, consumers benefit from:

-Exclusive PRC Network information on all real estate-related needs will be provided to consumers and clients of members in print and online.
- The seven following criteria that PRC Member Applicant’s must satisfy:
Experience. PRC Members must have a minimum of three ACTIVE years in real estate to qualify. They must also have worked in the area they want to served for at least three years.
Third Party Background Check. While most state licensing requires fingerprints and a Department of Justice check to ascertain CRIMINAL activity, PRC understands that most REALTORS® do NOT come from backgrounds (i.e.: school teachers, police, fireman, military, engineers, etc.) that foster ‘criminal’ activity. Therefore, PRC’s focus is on CIVIL Complaints, Arbitration and Disciplinary Actions by their Association of REALTORS®. Not only is this done in order to join the PRC Network, but PRC randomly performs these checks every year in addition to using information gathered by Client Survey’s in order to RENEW Memberships each year.
Results. Productivity is an important requirement for membership because it signifies to consumers that PRC Member Agents are among the upper echelon in real estate nationally and/or locally, in either volume or unit productivity.
Educational Attainment. While PRC favors Applicants who have earned at least one professional designation, ALL Members must complete the CSCA (Certified School and Community Advisor) educational and designation program. We believe there is a relationship between professional excellence and education, specifically when it comes to an individual's propensity for providing vital real estate information that will empower consumers.
Technology. PRC Member Agents must commit to providing consumers, on their individual business websites, consumer-relevant informational content provided by PRC and other sources. Information technology skills are a must in order to fully serve customer clients at all stages of the real estate experience. We also want to ensure that members become as financially prudent as possible through information technology efficiencies.
Commitment to Community. Candidates for PRC Membership must pledge to not only be consumer-centric, but community-centric, extending themselves beyond self-promotional accomplishments and demonstrating a commitment to bettering the community and its residents. PRC provides an array of tools to accomplish this requirement.
Because The PRC Real Estate Network is neither a real estate company nor real estate franchise, those who qualify for PRC Membership do not leave or change their current real estate company.

What is The PRC Real Estate Network?
The PRC Real Estate Network is a select group of real estate professionals from throughout the United States who have met the PRC Background Check, and stringent series of various career qualifications and who are committed to the future development of their professional skills and services to the consumers and the community they serve.

Why is a Background Check a requirement for membership in PRC?

We believe that, in general, the more experience a professional has, the more knowledge they acquire. To consumers in the selection process, this knowledge becomes an important part of both their real and perceived value of a real estate professional.
Why is 'Results' (productivity) a requirement for membership in PRC?
Productivity is an important requirement for membership because it signifies to consumers that PRC Members are among the upper echelon in real estate nationally and/or locally, in either volume or unit productivity. We believe that production should be a leading indicator of why consumers should select a PRC Member Agent for their real estate needs.
Why is 'Education' a requirement for PRC?
We believe there is an important connection between professional excellence and education, specifically when it comes to an individual's propensity for providing vital real estate information that will empower consumers. We also believe that consumers have an immediate respect for a real estate professional's educational accomplishments. Educational requirements for all members increase the status for exclusivity and PRC as a brand, increasing overall value proposition for each member and, therefore, the PRC Network as a whole.
Why is 'Information Technology' a requirement for PRC?
Information technology skills are a must in order to fully serve clients at all stages of the real estate experience. We also want to ensure that members become as financially prudent as possible through information technology efficiencies.

In order to produce the utmost respect from consumers, PRC Members must extend their essence beyond self-promotional accomplishments and demonstrate a commitment to bettering the community and its residents. Moreover, we believe that a commitment to the community is indispensable to marketing and selling the benefits of the community. Candidates for the PRC Real Estate Network, therefore, need to be not only consumer-centric but community-centric. Through its various relationships, PRC will provide community-related information to PRC Members in order to strengthen this effort.
Why was PRC in Real Estate formed?
Our founder, Stephen O’Hara credits his personal success in the real estate industry to having developed a method or program that would create greater respect from consumers. Another reason PRC was created was to raise consumer expectations by encouraging consumers to become more selective when choosing their real estate agents. The PRC Real Estate Network believes elevating consumer expectations is a byproduct of elevating real estate professionalism.
Who is PRC?
Founded in the early 1990’s as a means to set Founder Stephen O’Hara apart in his personal real estate practice, PRC was formally incorporated in 1999 as a California corporation. In 2004 formally decided to expand PRC outside of Orange County and the daunting task of converting ‘local to national’ began.
PRC was designed ‘By REALTORS® for REALTORS®. The executive team comprised Chris Pollinger, President, Dennis Rosvall, VP Regional Development, Tom Polander, VP and Judy LaDeur, VP have methodically assembled one of the best, most caring teams in the real estate industry who have designed PRC to help better agents take their real estate practice to the next level using a Consumer-driven business model. Like Stephen, each member of the Executive Team has a strong real estate background.
From its national headquarters in Newport Beach, CA, PRC fulfils its promise to 30,000 REALTORS® through 300 Regional Directors, each who have the responsibility of supporting and coaching 100 REALTORS® in their Region.
Unlike most other programs for REALTORS®, PRC limits the number of agents who can participate to ONE AGENT PER 5,000 Households. This gives the PRC Member Agent a marketing edge that their competition simply cannot complete against.
In order to offer the best chance for success to its Member Agents, PRC delivers its services through its Regional Directors.
Who is Stephen O’Hara, Founder and CEO
At age 12 Stephen O’Hara, was named one of America’s youngest entrepreneurs, and in 1980 he was named to the ‘Franchise 500’ list by Entrepreneur magazine. Never content to rest on his laurels, Stephen continues to re-invent himself and the way he does business. When he received the RE/MAX Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004 he was also stunned to learn that he ranked #14 from amongst the 106,000 RE/MAX agents worldwide.
He is often asked to share his story and he is happy to acquiesce, explaining that his life’s work is one of passion, unconditional love, patience and a history of turning ‘scars into stars’. His life story includes bankruptcy, the heart-wrenching, wrongful, loss of life of two close family members, wrong partners, and yes...yearly sales in excess of $55 million! With a career sales total of over One Billion Dollars, Stephen was propelled into real estate sales history when he became one of only 25 REALTORS® to be featured in the popular book, BILLION DOLLAR AGENT (Kantor).
Stephen has paid his dues. He has started and owned businesses on both a local and national level, including several national brand real estate offices where he recruited and mentored over 500 Associates. Stephen has a strong sense of marketing and communications skills. His academic background includes law and accounting as well as a strong background in franchise/licensing. He has an unwavering belief that success follows when you take care of the consumer. In fact, it’s the cornerstone of his entire business career. And, it’s worked.
Stephen is a visionary who provides a vital link between the administrative and marketing/sales functions. He excels in being able to think and communicate in two very distinct styles: globally and linearly. How is PRC different from other organizations like Top 5, CRS, CRB, e-Pro, and others?
PRC is not associated with any other real estate company or industry association, course, award, credentials, or designation, yet honors each for their own totally distinctive value and prestige. PRC does accept a variety of other industry brand and brokerage course achievements, certifications and designations as a way of satisfying the professional education requirement for PRC. What if I meet some of the criteria for PRC but not all of them-can I still become a member?
No, but we will inform you of the steps that are required in order for you to become eligible. We encourage all earnest real estate professionals to complete the application regardless of their assumed level of potential acceptance.
What type of content will you provide to PRC Members?
All phases of the consumer real estate continuum-from buying and selling to renovating or investing – is addressed in the PRC content, including: buying, selling, home improvement, financing, relocating, FSBO, selecting an agent, short sales, conducting seminars, and ongoing, consumer-relevant information.
Who runs the PRC Real Estate Network?
PRC is responsible for the ongoing support, functionality and administration of the PRC Real Estate Network as a whole, but views its network's members as strategic partners. PRC also relies heavily upon all PRC members for input on the network's procedural and implementation needs.
Why should I join PRC?
You should join PRC because it is the ONLY Agent Centric System which actually combines product and materials with coaching and theory. Why did PRC form PRC as opposed to other real estate organizations, associations or coaching companies?
While PRC uniquely appreciates and supports the role of real estate companies, training organizations, national, state and local boards and associations, simply stated, they offer their services to ALL Agents. You will never hear an ad from NAR that says we have 1.3 Million REALTOR® Members, but, here’s the name of the 30,000 that meet ‘such-in-such’ criteria. Nor will you hear any of the real estate companies (franchised or independent) offer the consumer a way to separate the experience from the not so experienced agents. As an independent resource, PRC can separate the experienced from inexperienced agents.

Most of our members are INVITED to join by our Regional Directors who actually live and work near our Members.

In addition to the PRC Third-Party Credibility that Background Checks and stringent membership standards provide, Home sellers benefit in several ways: 1. Sellers have access to more buyers through PRC Global Relocation. 2. The PRC Certified Home Program enables home sellers to set their home apart from other listings. 3. Home buyers can become a PRC Private Client™ and enjoy savings of up to $10,000.00 on their closing costs. 5. How will consumers not currently active in the market benefit from the PRC Real Estate Network?
All consumers will benefit by having access, through PRC Members, to consumer-centric real estate information. This information will focus on their non-transactional needs, thereby increasing the likelihood that they will select a PRC Member when a transactional need arises. Before the creation of PRC agents had been "farming" but planting the wrong seeds. While all leading agents strive to create customers for life, until now, they have never been equipped with the consumer-rich resources that PRC uniquely provides.
How can I promote the value of my PRC Membership to consumers?
PRC has developed a comprehensive marketing and promotional plan that will be provided to all PRC Members (included in membership). These multi-faceted and strategic marketing and promotional systems include the use of both offline and online resources, such as: direct mail; e-mail and press releases. Additionally, PRC Members will be provided with two community programs in order to expand their SOI (sphere-of-influence).
Will PRC provide media distribution to regional, national and local newspapers along with other media outlets?
Yes, informational releases is produced and distributed on a weekly basis.
Will membership fees be the same each year?
For the first three years, annual membership fees for the PRC will be fixed. After this time period, we do expect increases in accordance with rising operating expenses as PRC Membership grows.
Is there a PRC member-to-member referral program?
YES. In addition to your existing company programs, PRC strongly urges its Members to use another Member for their referrals.
Will there be any exceptions made for agents with less than three (3) years experience if they satisfy the production, educational, community, and other requirements and commitments of the PRC Real Estate Network?
Regrettably, no, as the integrity of membership and continued membership must be maintained at the highest degree possible.
Is PRC a franchise?
No. PRC is not designed to compete nor conflict in any way with the essence or role of any real estate company, brand, franchise or broker.
Is PRC a real estate company?
No. That is not the objective of the PRC Network.
Will PRC compete with my brand/broker?
No. In fact, many of the industry's leading real estate brokers and owners have recommended their top agents to us, which is a demonstration of their support for PRC.
Is there an exclusivity or can anyone who qualifies join?
Yes. This is another major difference in PRC and other programs. PRC limits the number of agents that can use the PRC brand to one agent per 5,000 Households. We do NOT want to saturate the marketplace. Note: We will not be defining nor limiting the GEOGRAPHICAL territory that members will serve.
Are there standards for continued PRC Membership?
Yes! In addition to annual Background Checks and customer satisfaction surveys, 1. Members must continue to meet productivity standards. 2. Members must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to PRC by participating in educational activities, such as webinars and community meetings. 3. Members must demonstrate that they are actively providing leading real estate information to their consumers and clients. 4. Members must consistently score high on CSI Surveys.
Does PRC provide training and/or coaching for members?
Yes. PRC relies heavily on its Mastery Coaching which focuses on teaching members how to implement and get the most out of PRC’s proprietary system. PRC Members will also benefit from a wide range of success strategies from their peers in the network, along with the wisdom of various coaches and trainers involved in the program,as well as their local Regional Director.
Does my participation in PRC count toward CE credits?
No. PRC is not an educationally based organization; it does, however, as part of its membership criteria, require that candidates have and continue to participate in industry education programs.
Can I receive compensation for bringing in additional members to the PRC Network?
No, there will be no compensation paid. The central purpose in becoming a member of the PRC Real Estate Network is to sustain and/or significantly increase your compensation by receiving the tools to generate increased business from a larger and more satisfied consumer/client base.
How Much More Business Can I Expect as a PRC Member?
Like getting fit or weight loss, your success will be commensurate with the effort you make. One of the first things we will do is help you analyze your business. Our focus will be on marketing, production and goals. Based upon our findings, PRC will help you create a business model using your PRC Membership to achieve your business goals. Most of our Members are looking for a reasonable increase in their business. For instance, someone currently doing $100K in Gross Commissions wants to go to $150K or $200K. An Agent who is doing $300K wants to get to $500K. These are fair goals and we help you get there.
